BIOGRAPHY

Jessica moved to Reno to attend the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2006. She graduated from UNR in 2010 with Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, with a minor in Art History. She has always enjoyed literature and remains an avid reader. Jessica attended law school at Seattle University. While in law school, Jessica focused her studies on family law and criminal law issues.

Jessica returned home to Reno for good immediately after graduating law school; she was ecstatic to return to the Nevada sunshine after three cold, grey, years in Seattle. It was at this time that Jessica began a judicial clerkship with the Second Judicial District Court as the law clerk for the Honorable Elliott Sattler. This was immediately followed by a second clerkship, this time with the family division of the Second Judicial District Court, with the Honorable Bridget Robb. Her time as a law clerk lends her particular insight into the innerworkings of the Court and the patterns and decisions of the District Court judges.

After over two years of clerking, Jessica began her position as an associate attorney with Barber Law Group in 2018. Although she began to appreciate family law while a law clerk, she has grown to love the fast-paced, ever-changing environment her work provides and sincerely enjoys her profession. While Jessica is adept at all aspects of family law, she specializes in complex and high asset divorce litigation; high conflict custody cases; drafting prenuptial and postnuptial agreements; and drafting complex motions. Jessica is also a trained mediator and brings her mediation skills to the table in conducting mediated divorce settlements. When Jessica isn't working, she loves making dinner and cocktails for friends; seeing live music; and being outside with her adorable Pitbull, Merle.
